My name is J. Andrew Zalucky and I write about music, politics and anything else worth arguing about. You can find links to published work in the menu above.
On the music side of things, I am currently a contributor to Decibel, Metal Injection and Nine Circles. My articles typically include album reviews, interviews, concert re-caps and editorials.
For political and cultural topics, I’ve written for The Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) and Quillette, and maintain a blog called For the Sake of Argument.
Professionally, I work as an editor at a b-to-b research and advisory firm. My work includes editing proprietary research deliverables, blogs and other content (presentations, marketing communications). Additionally, I do a significant amount of production work, laying out research in InDesign and publishing it to the corporate website through our CMS.
Rob Halford of Judas Priest had some nice things to say about my 2015 editorial “Reflecting on the New Wave of American Heavy Metal”:
Later on in 2017, Doc Coyle from Godforbid had me on his podcast to talk about the article in more detail:
In 2013, BreakThru Radio re-published an article of mine on modern secularism and interviewed me on their show “Biology of the Blog.”
My review of Clutch’s 2013 album, Earth Rocker, was featured in the book That Devil Music: Best Rock Writing 2014, published by Anthem Publishing.
